It’s the story of a palace that literally disappeared from history – and yet was home to nineteen French kings, from Robert II to Charles V. Considered the “Versailles of the Middle Ages”, this palace was situated at the feet of Notre Dame in Paris’s Ile de la Cité, and is now largely buried by France’s imposing Palais de la Justice. We follow the international team of ICONEM on a scientific quest to resurrect this lost palace using state of the art modeling techniques. They are helped by archaeologists conducting one of the most ambitious excavations of the site in the past century. As the lost palace remerges into view, so does the fascinating history of the site.
